2321e. (souvenir creamer) Old Chatham Twin Lights, Chatham, Mass. c.1900. A lovely, bright, gilt decorated commemorative creamer featuring a large, detailed, clear b/w image of the old  twin Chatham lights on Cape Cod. The superb piece measures 3 ¾” high and is enhanced by a beautiful decorative gilt trim on the handle and on the rim. The unusually detailed image includes all aspects of the two early stone light towers and the 1 ½ story keeper's dwelling. Labeled "Made in Germany (for) S. Rogers & Son, Chatham, Mass." Very clean, no cracks or checks, little if any wear. A very detailed, striking piece for your display. Chatham lighthouse china pieces are quite rare and in great demand. Unusually attractive piece. As nice as they come. (F-). $288.

7179. (souvenir dish) MONOMOY LIFE SAVERS AT WYCHMERE HARWICHPORT, MASS. c.1900. Superb commemorative heart-shaped dish bears a detailed b/w image of the Monomoy life savers standing up, posing as they arrive in their surfboat. Commemorative pieces featuring Life Saving Service images from the Monomoy area of Cape Cod are extremely rare and desirable and we have been only able to find a few in our career. This is certainly one of the nicer pieces yet found. Extremely attractive dish measures  5” in diameter. Large b/w image is extremely detailed right down to the facial hair. Marked “Made in Germany for A. N. Smalley, Harwichport , Mass. ”. Only very light wear only to rim. (VG+). $185.

  

10276. (souvenir dish) Wreck of the Glendon. Hampton, Beach, NH. c.1900. Lovely gilt decorated oval dish measures 6” in diameter. Featured in the center is a detailed b/w image of the three-masted vessel  breaking up on the beach in February 1896. Backmarked “Made in Austria for Chas. Emerson & Sons Importers, Haverhill, Mass. U.S.A.” Clean, no cracks or checks, some, a very detailed, pretty little item for your display, attractive presentation. (VG+). $124. 

  

21494b. (souvenir pitcher) c.1898 A superb, large, striking emerald green commemorative vase featuring a beautiful, detailed full color image of “Cape Henlopen Lighthouse” in Delaware. The beautiful piece measures 4 ¼” high and is enhanced by a beautiful decorative gilt trim and ornate handle on one side. Bulbous base of the vase sweeps upward into a bold upper rim, making this a most attractive piece. This item bears a fine, full color, close image of the tall masonry tower which would soon collapse into the sea. Very clean, no cracks, light wear near rim. A very detailed, striking item for your display and quite rare lighthouse piece. (VG+). $78.

2049c. (souvenir spoon) “Gratiot Light [House] Port Huron, Mich.” c.1900. This bright, beautiful piece features a detailed scene of the lighthouse, ships, a bridge, a tree, and “Gratiot Light Port Huron, Mich.” on the bowl with an open, woven lattice pattern handle.  Construction began on the original light house in 1823, and its replacement was fully automated in 1933. The exact age of this spoon is undetermined, but presumably it was purchased before 1933. The hallmark is the letters P & B in the center of each of three hearts for the silversmiths Paye & Baker of North Attleboro, MA, ~1901-1960. This firm was known for manufacturing souvenir spoons, sterling flatware, jewelry, and mesh purses.  Spoon is 5” long, and the condition is excellent.  This piece is exceptionally nice. (F-) $58.

6517d. [souvenir vase] Spring Point [Ledge] Light, Portland Harbor , Maine c.1900. An unusual, large, bright commemorative vase in deep cobalt blue, featuring a beautiful full color image of Spring Point [Ledge] Light, Portland Harbor , Maine . This item is quite bold and bears a large, detailed image of the spark-plug type light amidst the harbor with a ship behind. Vase is quite bright and distinctive, and measures a full 4 ¼” high and is enhanced by a sparkling decorative gilt trim. Clean, no cracks or checks. "Made in Germany". Only light wear. A distinctive and pretty piece for your display. (VG+). $78.

  

26206e. (commemorative dish) Cahoon Hollow Life Saving Station, Wellfleet , Mass. c.1900. Most desirable piece features the Cahoon Hollow Life Saving Station in Wellfleet, Mass. on a bold 5 5/8” diameter dish. This early piece is quite striking and is enhanced by a fluted surface decoration with gilt border. Marked Made in England for Mrs. E. B. Ryder, Wellfleet, Mass.”. Dish is clean, bright, no chips or cracks, just moderate wear to gilded edge. An unusually bright, bold piece for display and an exceptionally rare form. A superb image of the early life-saving station. (VG+). $245.

    

1094. (souvenir creamer) U. S. Life-Saving Station, North Scituate, Mass. c.1900. Lovely gilt decorated bright white round creamer featuring a large, detailed full color image of the early Bibb #2 Type life saving station on the beach at North Scituate, Massachusetts. Backmarked “Made in Germany for M. G. Seaverns & Co., North Scituate, Mass.” Beautifully decorated with flowers framing the image and gilt highlights and borders. Clean, no cracks or checks, a very detailed, unusual presentation with bright image for your display. A large, striking piece. (F-). $118.

10103. (souvenir dish) Peaked Hill Bar Life Saving Station, Provincetown, Mass c.1898. Unusual large souvenir glass dish features a large 3 ¾” original albumen photo of the Peaked Hill Bar Life-Saving station affixed to the base, visible through the glass. The Peaked Hill Bar station was an expanded Red House-type station. This was one of the original nine stations which were erected on Cape Cod in 1872. The first keeper, David H. Atkins, was appointed in 1872 at the age of 34, with 22 years experience as a surfman. On November 30, 1880, Keeper Atkins and two of his crew died trying to assist the sloop C. E. Trumbull with a cargo of coal for ballast and a crew of six, when she stranded in a violent northwest gale on the outer bar in the neighborhood of the station. Plate measures 7 ½” in diameter including painted decorated edge detail. Some moisture to image but still quite clear and detailed. (VG-). $74.

 

  

1048. [Victorian commemorative covered box] Most attractive, rare wooden Victorian covered wooden shot glass container features a beautiful b/w lithograph of the “Bishop’s & Clerks Light, Hyannis, Mass." c.1900. A pretty little piece, the box is of hardwood, varnished and measures 3 ¼”h by 2 5/8” top diameter, tapering to a base of 2” diameter. Box has a removable round top which is enhanced by a decorative rim. The pretty image measures about 1 ¾” oval and shows the tall granite light tower and entranceway, as well as the unusual fog bell tower on the rocky shoal. Inside the box was once a fine shot glass. Such wooden Victorian era commemorative pieces, known as Mauchlineware, are exceptionally difficult to find and are quite pretty for display. Clean, very little wear. Most Rare!  $188.

  

1034. (souvenir spoon) c.1900. Charming commemorative spoon bears a lovely engraved image of the early Three “Sisters” lighthouses on Cape Cod’s Nauset Beach in Eastham. This beautiful old sterling silver souvenir spoon dates to about 1900,  featuring on the handle in a very nice pattern. In the bowl it has most expertly hand engraved sea shore view with a cliff, keeper’s house and the three wooden light towers. Engraved is “Nauset Lights, Cape Cod”. This rare piece measures 5 ¼” long and is in excellent condition. On the back marked “D” for William B. Durgin Co. and “STERLING”. A nicely detailed commemorative piece and an extremely rare location. (VG+). $185.

8197d.  (souvenir shell dish) c.1900. “Owl’s Head [Light House, Rockland], Me.” A bold, detailed commemorative dish in a shell configuration featuring a bright full color hand painted period image of the masonry lighthouse perched high on the headland guarding Rockland harbor on the south. The superb piece is shell shaped, with upturned fluted sides, and measures 4 ½” in diameter and is enhanced by a decorative gilt trim on the rim. Marked “Made in  Germany.” Clean, no cracks or checks, light wear to rim, a very detailed, pretty little item for your display. (VG+). $58. 

  

29390. (souvenir cup/saucer) Negro Island Light House, Camden, Maine. c.1898. A bright, gilt decorated commemorative cup with saucer in a tortoise shell finish, features a large, detailed, clear full color image of the masonry lighthouse on Maine’s Negro Island. Camden Harbor is finely locked in between two jutting points of land, one high, the other low, with a pretty little wooded island deftly dropped in at the entrance long known as Negro Island. The name of the island was changed to Curtis Island in 1934. The superb, large cup measures 3” high with a matching 6” diameter saucer,  and is enhanced by a beautiful decorative gilt trim around the image and on the handle and on the rim. Not marked, dating it before 1898. Very clean, no cracks or checks, little if any wear. A very detailed, pretty little item for your display. Unusually bright and attractive piece. (VG+). $78.

27222b. (souvenir cup/saucer) Owls Head Lighthouse, Rockland, Maine. c.1898. A bright, gilt  decorated commemorative cup with saucer in white,  features a large, detailed, clear b/w image of the high light tower at Owls head, looking up from the harbor. This superb piece measures  3 in diameter, with a 5” saucer, and is brightly decorated with a gilt decorated rim and boarders. Not marked, pre 1900. Very clean, no cracks or checks, little if any wear to image, light wear to gilding on rim. A very detailed, pretty little item for your display, unusually attractive early piece. (VG+). $88

24141d. (souvenir creamer) Nubble Lighthouse, York Beach, Maine. c.1900. Lovely white with touch of violet creamer measures 4 ¼” high, with a bold handle and spout. Featured is a lovely hand painted full color image of the cast iron light tower and keeper’s house perched on the rocky nubble. Backmarked “Made in Germany.” Clean, no cracks or checks, little if any wear. A very detailed, striking piece for your display, unusually attractive coloration. (VG+). $68

 

27388b (souvenir plate) Bright decorative plate features a close detailed b/w image of “Dice’s Head Light [house], Castine , Me. ” Beautiful close clear image includes the entire light station perched on the wooded bluff. Charming piece is enhanced by a gilded laced edge. Still a wonderful image on a bright attractive piece. (F-). $164.

2359b. (commemorative plate) A bright white commemorative plate with gilded edge featuring a beautiful clear, detailed b/w image of the Lime Rocks Light, Home of Ida Lewis, Newport, RI. c. 1900. This piece quite striking, with a clear, detailed image of the keeper’s house where Ida and her father lived and from which the light was shown each night. This pretty piece measures 8”  in diameter and is quite bold with a fancy gilt border  on the bright white plate body.  Marked “Germany”. A very attractive piece. Clean, bright, only very light edge wear. (F-). $88.

937d. (commemorative plate) A bright sky blue commemorative plate featuring a beautiful clear, detailed b/w image of the Highland Lighthouse, Cape Cod , Mass. c. 1900. This piece quite striking, with a clear, detailed image of the tall masonry light tower with the two keeper dwellings to each side, set against the white sky behind. This pretty piece measures 7 ¾”  in diameter and is quite bold with the 2 ¾” gilt bordered image on the brightly colored sky blue body. Marked “Made in Germany for D. S. Carlow & Co., Providencetown[sic], Mass.”. A very attractive piece. Clean, bright, light edge wear. (VG). $178.

29350. (souvenir teapot) Five Mile Point (New Haven Harbor) Lighthouse, New Haven, Conn. c.1900. Lovely large gilt decorated cobalt blue souvenir teapot measures 4 ¾” wide by 4” high. Featured on the side is a good size detailed full color image of the tall masonry light tower with attached keeper’s dwelling on Five Mile Point near the harbor entrance. Backmarked “Made in Germany .” Clean, no cracks or checks. A very detailed, striking presentation with bright gilding for your display. (VG+). $88.

27378b. (souvenir dish) Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, Bristol . Me. c.1900. Lovely gilt decorated round dish measures 6 3/8” with upturned decorated sides. Featured on the dish is a wonderful, large detailed b/w image of the early rubble-stone light tower and attached keeper’s dwelling. Backmarked “Made in Germany for George Bliss, Waldoboro, Me. ” Lovely piece is clean, no cracks or checks, only very light wear to edge, about as nice as they come. A very detailed, pretty little item for your display,  attractive presentation. (F-). $144.

  

29345. (commemorative salt shaker) A bright cobalt blue commemorative salt shaker featuring a beautiful clear, detailed full color image of the Grindle Point Light House, Isleboro, Maine . c. 1900. This piece is quite striking, with bright color image of the light tower on the rocks, with the fog bell tower and ocean below. The pretty piece measures 3 ¼”  in height and is quite bold with the striking image on the mixed blue sea and sky in the background. A very attractive piece in a rare form. Clean, bright, without bottom cork stopper. Very little if any wear. (VG+). $84.

29300. (souvenir dish A rare, bright, gilt decorated rose and crème colored commemorative dish featuring a beautiful clear, detailed color image of the “Bass River Light House, West Dennis, Mass.” One of the few of this rare lighthouse that I have found, this striking piece measures about 6” in diameter and is enhanced by a beautiful decorative gilded border and handle. The unusually detailed image includes all aspects of the lighthouse with lantern room protruding from the roof. Nice detailed image on the bright china piece and rose coloration make a good contrast on this rare item. Marked “Altenburg China Made in Germany for Mrs. M. B. Covil, West Dennis, Mass ”. Quite clean, bright, light wear to gilding. A beautiful display piece. Unusually large, bold view of this little-known Cape Cod lighthouse. (VG). $134.

Most unusual and attractive piece features the Billingsgate Light House (Wellfleet Point), in Wellfleet, Mass. on a bold 6 ¼” moon-shaped dish. This early piece is quite large and enhanced by a decorative edge with gilt border. Marked “Carlsbad BFHS China Made in Austria for P. W. Higgins, Wellfleet, Mass.”. Dish is clean, bright, no chips or cracks or wear, near fine condition. An unusually bright, bold piece for display and an exceptionally rare form. One of the nicest that I have yet had. Lovely bowl in a bright white, features a detailed b/w image of the tall granite light and attached fog bell tower perched on the rocky shoal off Hyannis in Nantucket Sound. Backmarked “Made in Germany for Myron G. Bradford, Hyannis , Mass. ” Round bowl with fluited rim, measures 3 ¾” in diameter. Clean, no cracks or checks, light wear. A pretty little item for your display. (VG+). $124.

  

8193. (souvenir tile) Pilgrim Monument, Provincetown, Mass. c. 1907. Lovely Wedgwood souvenir tile featuring a large detailed image of the new Pilgrim monument erected in Provincetown. Tile is in a wonderful cobalt blue with the corners decorated by flowers. The tile measures 6” square and has a detailed description printed on the back. Marked “Made in England for H. F. Hopkins, Provincetown, Mass. This was probably made in 1906 or 1907 and sold in town in 1907 when President Taft dedicated the completed monument. Lovely piece, a few closed age cracks and a bit of crazing. Extremely rare. (VG-). $55.

Lovely dish in a bright emerald green, features in the center is a detailed full color image of the tall granite light and attached fog bell tower perched on the rocky shoal off Hyannis in Nantucket Sound. Backmarked “Made in Germany for M.D. Bradford, Hyannis , Mass. ” Round dish with upturnd sides measures 3” in diameter. Clean, no cracks or checks, light wear. A pretty little item for your display. 21452. (souvenir plate) High Head Life Saving Station, Provincetown, Mass. c.1900. Lovely large gilt decorated, crème and rose colored, round plate measures a full 7 ¾” in diameter. Featured in the center is a large detailed b/w image of the early High Head 1882-Type Life Saving Station. Backmarked “Made in Germany for D. S. Carlow & Co., Provincetown, Mass. ” Clean, no cracks or checks, light wear to edge gilding. A bright, very detailed item for your display, unusually attractive presentation. (VG). $295.

8468L. (souvenir cup/saucer) A rare, bright, gilt decorated and edged cobalt blue colored commemorative cup and saucer featuring a beautiful clear, detailed color image of the Atlantic City, Lighthouse. The superb cup measures 2 ¼” in diameter and is enhanced by a beautiful decorative gilded border and handle. The detailed image includes all aspects of the lighthouse, keeper’s house and adjacent neighborhood. Saucer is matching and measures 3 7/8” in diameter. Nice detailed image on the bright china piece and deep blue coloration make a good contrast on this rare item. Marked “Made in Germany ”. Clean, bright, some wear to gilding on rim, a beautiful display piece. (VG). $32 net.

  

29207. [Victorian commemorative covered Mauchlineware box] c.1900. Superb, rare wooden Victorian covered box features a beautiful b/w lithograph of the “Absecon Lighthouse, Atlantic City”. A pretty piece, the box is of hardwood, varnished and measures 3 3/8” x 2 3/8” x 1 ¾” h. The pretty image measures about 2 ½” oval and shows the tall light tower with attached keeper’s dwellings and adjacent buildings. The box has a nicely hinges cover with a brass latch. Such wooden Victorian era commemorative pieces, known as Mauchlineware, are exceptionally difficult to find and are quite pretty for display. Clean, little if any wear, only one slight mark on cover. Most Rare! (VG+). $118.

2054. [paperweight] Heavy glass paperweight featuring an early c.1890 photograph of "Life-Saving Station, Salisbury Beach, Mass." This rare item features a nice detailed sepia photo image of the Keeper and crew posed on the boat-ramp with their beach apparatus cart and surfboat. The crew is poised with the pull ropes over their shoulder while their pet dog sits faithfully at their feet. Quite rare early Life-Saving Service image and collectible, clear, crisp. Paperweight measures 4" x 2 ¾" x 1"h. (VG+). $168 net.

96626j. (souvenir cream pitcher). Highland Lighthouse, Cape Cod, Mass. c.1900. A full 7" tall, 7" spout to handle - the largest that I have ever seen. "Adams, England. Made for Te Town Crier Gift Shop, Provincetown, Mass. (VG+). $565.

29149. (souvenir cup) A rare, bright, gilt decorated rose and crème colored commemorative cup featuring a beautiful clear, detailed color image of the “Bass River Light House, West Dennis, Mass.” The first of this rare lighthouse that I have found, this striking cup measures 3 ¾” in diameter and is enhanced by a beautiful decorative gilded border and handle. The unusually detailed image includes all aspects of the lighthouse with lantern room protruding from the roof. Nice detailed image on the bright china piece and rose coloration make a good contrast on this rare item. Marked “Altenburg China Made in Germany for Mrs. M. B. Covil, West Dennis, Mass ”. Quite clean, bright, light wear to gilding. With two chips 1/8 – ¼” to rim. Still a beautiful display piece. Unusually large, bold view of this little-known Cape Cod lighthouse. (G+). $64.

 

9455k. (souvenir creamer) Absecon Lighthouse, Atlantic City, NJ. c.1898. Lovely gilt decorated cobalt blue creamer features on the side is a beautiful full color image of the tall lighthouse with waves crashing on the beach. Beautifully presented, in cobalt blue with lovely gilt decoration gracing the image, edges and ornate handle. Not backmarked. Clean, no cracks or checks, only light wear to rim. Measures 3 ¾” high. A nice presentation with bright gilding for your display. (VG+). $48.

Lovely gilt decorated cobalt blue creamer features on the side is a beautiful full color image of the “sparkplug type” lighthouse and breakwater. Beautifully presented, in cobalt blue with lovely gilt decoration gracing the image, edges and ornate handle. Backmarked “Germany”. Clean, no cracks or checks, little if any wear. Measures 3 ½” high. A nice presentation with bright gilding for your display. (F-). $88. 

29170. (souvenir creamer) Gray’s Harbor Lighthouse and Fog Signal Building , Westport , Wash. c.1900. Lovely colorful creamer measures 4” high, with a bold hand painted full color image of the light tower and steam fog signal building perched on the bluff. Backmarked “Made in Austria for Wheeler Bros. Tea & Coffee Store, Aberdean, Wash.” Clean, no cracks or checks, little if any wear. A very detailed, striking piece for your display, unusually attractive coloration. (VG+). $74.

  

29108. (commemorative spoon) c.1900. Beautiful bold commemorative spoon bears a detailed engraved image of the U.S. Life Saving Station, South Haven, Michigan. The spoon is decorated in a gold wash and  features a highly-detailed engraved image of the Bibb #3-Type station built in 1887 and boat ramp, with their surfboat in the foreground. The spoon measures 5 7/8”  long with decorated handle and is in marvelous overall condition for its age, with surprisingly little surface wear. The gold washed bowl is enhanced by the bold handle decorated in raised relief. Nicely detailed commemorative piece and an extremely rare and desirable location, commemorating this interesting early life-saving station. Marked sterling. (VG+). $98 net.

Backmarked “Altenburg China Made in Germany for W.D. Baker, Hyannis , Mass. ” Oval dish with upturnd sides measures 5 ¾” x 6 ¾”. Clean, no cracks or checks, little wear. A very detailed, pretty little item for your display, unusually attractive presentation. (VG+). $134.

28430. [Victorian commemorative covered Mauchlineware box] c.1900. Superb, rare wooden Victorian covered box features a beautiful b/w lithograph of the “U.S. Life Saving Station, Salisbury Beach, Mass”. A pretty piece, the box is of hardwood, varnished and measures 3 3/8” x 4 ¼” x 2 ¼” h. The pretty image measures about 1 ½” oval and shows the tall Duluth-type station that was constructed in 1897, with the added lookout tower on the beach in front of the station. The box has a nicely hinges cover with a brass latch, and inside has been lined with a fine purple felt to protect your valuables. Such wooden Victorian era commemorative pieces, known as Mauchlineware, are exceptionally difficult to find and are quite pretty for display. Clean, some minor light wear and a few light scratches. Most Rare! $148 net.

27278b. (souvenir creamer) c.1900. Superb bright creamer, featuring a detailed full color image of the Owls Head Light House, Rockland , Maine . This is one of the more striking that I have found, with a bright full color image of the light tower high on the hill, with the keeper’s dwelling and boathouse below. The creamer is of a classic style, enhanced by a short spout and handle with beautiful cobalt blue coloration and a very pretty gilt borders and trim. Marked “Made in Germany for A. Ross Weeks, Rockland, Maine.” This beautiful collector’s piece measures 2 ¾” high x 3 ½” wide. This is a wonderful, early commemorative piece, clean and bright, striking. (VG+). $68 net.

This unusual item is quite attractive and bears a fine though distant, full color image of the tall old lighthouse tower on the rocky point of Little Brewster Island in Boston Harbor. Colorful image is enhanced by the deep cobalt blue rim and bright gilt decoration. This piece is marked “Made in Germany.” 4 1/8” diameter. Clean, no cracks or checks, only light wear. 27467. (commemorative plate) Ship “County of Edinburgh” Ashore at Point Pleasant, NJ. c.1900. Rare shipwreck souvenir china piece features a large, beautiful clear, detailed image of the ship “County of Edinburgh” ashore. The British ship County of Edinburgh went ashore in a dense fog at about 10 o'clock at night on February 13, 1900 close to Manasquan Life Saving Station, on the Jersey coast, near Point Pleasant. The vessel drove on hard and fast and the life-saving crew deemed it best to remove the crew. Word was sent to the men at the Point Pleasant station, who hurried to aid the Manasquan crew. As it was impossible to launch the surfboat, a breeches buoy line was soon rigged and the crew removed. The superb, bright, floral decorated plate is quite rare and is one of the most attractive that I have had. This pretty display piece measures 8 3/8” in diameter and is enhanced by a decorative flowered border around the edge. Back marked “Wheelock China Made in Austria Vienna  for Point Pleasant Hdwr. 2854. (commemorative spoon) c.1900. Beautiful petite commemorative spoon bears a nicely detailed engraved image of the Pomham Rocks Lighthouse, East Providence, Rhode Island. The spoon features a nicely detailed image of the Pomham Rocks Lighthouse on a the gold washed spoon. The lighthouse is located on a large rock on the east side of the Providence River. The square, two-story wood-framed keeper’s residence was built in 1871, featuring a mansard roof with the tower and lantern rising from the center front of the house. The spoon measures 4”  long and is in marvelous overall condition for its age. Marked “Sterling”. 2884. [paperweight] Grace Darling Commemorative paperweight c.1900. Heavy glass rectangular paperweight featuring an early engraved image of British Heroine Grace Darling. The daughter of a lighthouse keeper, Darling grew up on Longstone in the Farne Islands. Grace become the focus of national attention after the steamship Forfarshire sank during a severe storm in September 1838. Nine people managed to find refuge on nearby rocks, and Darling and her father battled rough water to row to their rescue. The incident inspired numerous poems, paintings, and songs and made Darling a virtual cult figure. This rare item features a detailed early image of the lovely heroine, with a lengthy description printed on the bottom by The Shipwrecked Fisherman and Mariners Royal Benevolent Society. Large heavy glass rectangular paperweight – pin dish featuring an early photograph of Light House and Fog Horn on Piers, Life Saving Service Crew, Outer Harbor, Michigan City, Indiana. This rare item features a detailed early photograph of the two lighthouses on the piers as the life-saving crew maneuvers their surfboat out of the harbor. Photo remains clear and sharp, but with some darkening or foxing. Overall in good condition, light wear. Unusually large size  4” x 7 3/8” x 1 1/8” h. A striking creamer is decorated in a bright rose pattern, and bears a large full color image of the tall masonry lighthouse perched on the rocks off Cohasset, Mass. The unusually detailed image includes all aspects of the unusual light tower, with the wood lifeboat hanging from the tower davits. Superb, rare wooden Victorian letter holder features a beautiful b/w lithograph image of the “Grindle Point Light House, Isleboro, Me.” A pretty little piece meant to hand on the wall to hold letter mail is of hardwood, varnished and measures 5 ½” high x 5” wide. The pretty image shows the tall  square masonry light tower, keeper’s dwelling and fog signal bell perched on the rock shore. 27327. [paperweight] Commemorative paperweight c.1900. Heavy glass rectangular paperweight featuring an early c.1900 photograph of Bishop and Clerk Light House, Hyannis, Mass. This rare item features a close photograph of the unusual offshore masonry light tower with attached fog bell tower as a visitor lands by sailboat. Built in the 1850’s, the lighthouse was a dramatic 65-foot tower standing in open water. It was fitted with a fourth-order Fresnel lens, with an automatic fog bell, operated by a clockwork mechanism. Photo remains clear and sharp, overall in excellent condition, some scuffing to back. 2 ½” x 4” x ¾” h. One of the few such items of this remote Cape Cod light and most desirable. [commemorative butter pat] Striking bright white butter pat, featuring a close b/w image of “Nobska Lighthouse, Woods Hole, Mass.” Prominent Nobska Point was an ideal place for a lighthouse and in 1828 the first lighthouse was built. Butter pat features a large b/w image of the later iron light tower with keeper’s dwelling behind. Today, the charming Victorian dwelling is home to Commander of U.S. Coast Guard Group Woods Hole. Marked “Made in Germany for S. I. Snow, Woods Hole, Mass.” Dish measures 3 ½” in diameter and is enhanced by a decorative gilded rim.  This is a wonderful, early commemorative piece and is one of the few Nobska lighthouse pieces that I have found. Clean, bright, a striking piece. (VG+). $78.

This early piece is quite charming and enhanced by a large gilt decorated area around the image and on the handle. Attractive cup features a detailed full color image of the lighthouse and keeper’s dwelling. Erected in 1892, the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse served as a beacon of safety in the Straits for more than 60 years. The castle-like structure, whose design is unique in the Great Lakes, has today been restored to its 1910 appearance. The cup measures 2 ¾” high and is marked “Made in Germany” Piece is clean, bright, no chips or cracks, just very light wear to gilded edge. This is one of the more striking that I have found, featuring a very pretty and quite detailed full color image of this tall masonry tower, with the keeper’s dwelling and fog signal building perched on the rocky point. The creamer is of a classic style, enhanced by a short spout and handle on top with a very pretty gilt borders and trim. Marked “Made in Germany for J. R. Libby Co., Portland, Maine.” This beautiful collector’s piece measures 5”  high x 3” in diameter. This is a wonderful, early commemorative piece, clean and bright, striking. Rare early form features a large full color image of the early 1879-Type Lake Huron station as the crew poses in front with their surfboat. 27255. [commemorative creamer] Striking bright white gilt decorated creamer, featuring a full color image of the “Hockomock Head, Swans Island, Lighthouse, Maine” c.1900. To mark the entrance to Burnt Coat Harbor, a light station was established on the promontory called Hockamock Head in 1872. Two towers were erected to serve as range lights. In 1884, after numerous complaints that the range lights were confusing, the front light was discontinued, leaving the present tower standing. Creamer features a beautifully colored though distant image of the square masonry light tower with attached keeper’s dwelling. Marked “Made in Germany for S. J. Morse, Swans Island, Maine.” Creamer measures 3 ¾”  high and is enhanced by a stunning decorative gilded rim.  This is a wonderful, early commemorative piece and is one of the few of this light  that I have found. Striking large souvenir plate, featuring a detailed image of “Boon Island Light [house], York, Maine.” This unusual plate features a large, color image of the tall granite light tower, boathouse and keeper’s dwellings. The present lighthouse was constructed between 1852 and 1854, along with a new keeper’s dwelling. The stone tower is 133 feet high -- the tallest lighthouse in New England. The plate is a lovely crème color, with gilt decoration around the flueted border. Not backmarked, dating this before 1900. 27169. (commemorative spoon) c.1900. Beautiful large commemorative spoon bears a detailed engraved image of the Light House at Pulaski, New York. The spoon is engraved “1900”  and features a highly-detailed engraved image of the striking stone keeper’s dwelling with the rooftop lantern room. The Selkirk Lighthouse sits at the mouth of the Salmon River. Originally called the Salmon River Light Station, the lighthouse was constructed in 1838 and remains today, complete with its original style early lantern room. The spoon measures 6" long and is in marvelous overall condition for its age, with surprisingly little surface wear from decades of polishing. The gold washed bowl is engraved “Pulaski Lighthouse, NY“ with “1900” on the handle back (rare to have a date engraved.). Nicely detailed little commemorative piece and an extremely rare and desirable location, commemorating this interesting early light station. (VG). $118 net.

[commemorative glass vase] c.1900 A most unusual, large, light green commemorative glass bud vase featuring a, detailed full color image of the “Absecon Lighthouse [and Life-Saving Station], Atlantic City , N. J.” Image measures about 2” in diameter and includes nice detail of the two historic buildings. Commemorative glassware from this era are most rare and make a lovely addition to your collection. This interesting piece measures 6 ¾” high by about 3 ¼” in diameter at the flared body,  and is very clean, with no cracks or checks. Top also flares out making this delicate piece quite attractive. A large, detailed commemorative trivet or hotplate featuring a one color image of the tall granite “Minot’s Ledge Light House”. This bright distinctive piece is round and measures 6 ¼” in diameter and is enhanced by a lightly decorated raised rim. Trivet is clean, some wear to rim decoration, closed age lines radiating from glaze defect visible on back only. A detailed, unusual little item for your display. (VG-). $64.

21255b. (commemorative creamer) c.1900. Attractive, stout creamer, featuring a detailed full color image of the “Light-House, Biloxi, Miss”. A distinctive piece, featuring a fine, full color image detailing the tall cast iron light tower, walkway and keeper’s dwelling perched on the watery point. The Biloxi Lighthouse was one of three Mississippi Sound Lighthouses authorized in 1847. Cast iron plates were bolted together to form a metal wrapper around a brick liner. The tower was completed in the spring of 1848. The creamer is of a classic style, enhanced by a short spout and handle on top with a very pretty gilded borders and cobalt blue body color.  Marked “Wheelock China, Made in Germany for Biloxi Hardware Co., Biloxi, Miss. Dresden”. This beautiful collector’s piece measures a full 3 ¾” high x 3 ½” wide. This is a wonderful, early commemorative piece, clean and bright, very little if any wear. (VG+).  $88.

 

27113. (souvenir plate) c.1898. A rare, bright, decorated edged commemorative plate featuring a beautiful clear, full color hand painted image of the Life Saving Station, Sheboygan, Wisconsin. One of only a few like this station that I have had, this attractive plate has a quite detailed image as if from a painting, of the 1889 Bibb #3 Type life-saving station. This beautiful display piece measures 6 1/8” in diameter and is enhanced by a petite decorative trim around the edge. Nice painting quality image makes this a striking piece. 27132. [commemorative spoon] c. 1906. Beautiful large commemorative spoon with a copper wash bears a detailed engraved image of the “Quonochontaug, Rhode Island Life Saving Station” on the dish. This finely detailed little piece shows a close view of the distinctive station with the crew and boat on the ramp. One boat is pictured in the boat doorway, another at water's edge and one on the ramp with six figures maneuvering it. The handle is Paye and Baker's 1900 raised relief Pattern “Daphne”. The back is marked “STERLING” and the trademark of Simmons & Baker, predecessor of Paye & Baker. The gold washed bowl is engraved “I.F.L. Dec. 25, 1906 (rare to have a date engraved.) Quonochontaug”. Measures 5 ¼” long and is in excellent condition. Nicely detailed little commemorative piece and an extremely rare and desirable location, commemorating this interesting life saving station. 6603e. [Wedgwood Boston Lighthouse Calendar Tile] c.1918. An extremely scarce commemorative tile manufactured by Wedgwood in England , features a large, detailed image of “ Boston Light, First Lighted September 14th, 1716 . The First Lighthouse in America .” The beautiful rectangular tile bears the close image in shades of brown with a complete calendar for the year 1918 on the obverse. The tile was manufactured by Wedgwood for Jones McDuffee & Stratton Co. of Boston and was probably distributed for advertisement. This rare view was one of 49 designs produced for this company during the period from 1881 until 1929. A rare and unusual piece and quite collectible. Clean, no crazing, only light wear and one closed age crack. (VG-). $158.

 

23167b. (souvenir sugar or urn) MONOMOY LIFE SAVERS AT WYCHMERE HARWICHPORT, MASS. c.1900. Superb large commemorative urn or sugar bears a detailed b/w image of the Monomoy life savers standing up, posing as they arrive in their surfboat. Commemorative pieces featuring Life Saving Service images from the Monomoy area of Cape Cod are extremely rare and desirable and we have been only able to find a few in our career. This is certainly one of the nicer pieces yet found. Extremely large urn measures 4 ¼” high by 5” in diameter. Large b/w image is extremely detailed right down to the facial hair. Marked “Made in Germany for A. N. Smalley, Harwichport , Mass. ”. Urn is enhanced with gilt trim on the two ornate handles and around the rim, making this a beautiful display piece. (commemorative dish) One of the largest commemorative dishes or trays, a superb, bright, white, gilt edged commemorative dish or tray featuring a beautiful clear, detailed full b/w image of the “Ship Jason, Wrecked Dec. 5, 1893 Cape Cod”. It was on the dreaded Peaked Hill Bars that the terrible ocean tragedy, the wreck of the ship Jason, occurred in a furious winter storm on December 5, 1893. The wreck of the Jason was one of the most appalling disasters that has ever taken place on the shores of Cape Cod, twenty-six lives being lost. Of the whole crew, Evans, the ship’s apprentice, was the only person that managed to reach the shore. Dish features a large image of the ship wrecked offshore as the life-saving crew rows out to the vessel. Marked “Made in Germany for O. E. Kelley, Dennisport, Mass.” Piece measures 6 ½” x 9 ¾”, and with a ½”  raised edge enhanced by a petite, decorative gilt border. A very large, pretty display piece. (VG).   $166.

One of only a few like this that I have had, this attractive plate has a quite detailed image as if from a painting, of the pierhead lighthouse and intricate walkway with the breakers rolling in. This beautiful display piece measures 6 ½” in diameter and is enhanced by a petite decorative gilt trim around the edge. Nice painting quality image makes this a striking piece. This finely detailed little piece shows a distant view of the tall light tower with attached keeper’s dwelling. The handle of the spoon is decorated in raised relief in an Indian motif. 2762. [paperweight] Heavy glass rectangular paperweight featuring an early c.1900 photograph of Hyannis Harbor Lighthouse, South Hyannis, Mass. This rare item features a close photograph of the short white light tower, flanked by the 1 ½-story keeper’s dwelling and out buildings. In front stands the uniformed light keeper speaking with two finely dressed women. In 1848, Congress authorized the building of a proper lighthouse at South Hyannis for $2,000. A 19-foot (to the base of the lantern), conical brick tower was built, and the light went into service on May 7, 1849. A fifth-order Fresnel lens replaced the original lighting apparatus in 1856, and a new cast-iron lantern was installed in 1863. Photo remains clear and sharp, overall in excellent condition. 2 ½” x 4” x ¾” h. One of the few such items of this remote Cape Cod light and most desirable. (F-).  $135 net.

2586b. (souvenir dish) c.1900. Exquisite bright, detailed pin dish features a detailed b/w image of “Plum Island Light” House, Newburyport, Mass. Dish measures 5 1/8” square with clipped corners and provides a striking contrast to the large detailed image. In 1838 the original twin octagional lighthouses on this spot were replaced by a new pair of octagonal towers built on moveable foundations. In 1856 one of the lighthouses was destroyed by fire and it was decided not to rebuild. The surviving lighthouse received a fourth order Fresnel lens and remains today. Quite rare and distinctive, the cup measures 2 ¾” tall and is enhanced by decorative gilt framing around the image, and gilt border around the petite handle. The nice bright color image shows the tall light tower with attached keeper’s dwellings on each side. Shown quite close, the image is nicely done and quite attractive in shades of blues, reds and browns. “Made in Germany for F. H. 2537. [demitasse  cup) United States Navy. Scarce original early United States Navy demitasse tea cup manufactured in the early years of the Twentieth Century for use in ships’ wardrooms and at some ‘stag’ stations. Of heavy white institutional type china, with little if any wear, free of any cracks or major defects. Pattern includes one cobaly blue fouled anchor on the body of the cup. A fine collectible,  2 ½” diameter,  2 ¼”  high. (VG). $16.

Quite rare and distinctive, the piece measures 2 ½” tall and is enhanced by decorative gilt border on  the petite handle and around the border and rim. 6699j. (souvenir dish) c.1900. An unusual, bold, bright cobalt blue commemorative dish featuring a beautiful full color image of the “U. S. Life Saving Station, Salisbury Beach, Mass.”. This fairly large piece has a large 2 ¼” full color image on white background of the tall Duluth-type station that was constructed in 1897. The detailed image shows the entire station, with the surfman posed on the boat-ramp in front of their surfboat. This item is quite attractive and unusual, made in a leaf shape with deep cobalt blue border and beaded, gilded trim. Dish measures about 6 ¼” and is clean, one leaf point chipped but not noticeable on the top. A very detailed, striking piece for your display. (VG+). $94 net.

2413. (souvenir spoon) c. 1900. Beautiful petite silver spoon bears an impressed image of U. S. Life Saving Station, South Haven, Michigan.” on the dish. This finely detailed little piece shows the ornate Bibb #3 Type station and boat ramp,  with the crew in the surfboat in front of the boat ramp. The handle of the spoon is edged with a decorative border and engraved with the initial “L” and “1903” on the obverse. Marked " Sterling ”, measures roughly 5 1/8" long and is in excellent condition. This is one of the nicer pieces, a beautiful, finely detailed little commemorative piece and a most rare item commemorating this interesting Great Lakes station. (F). $118 net.

(Victorian Mauchlineware ink pen / spade) Superb, rare wooden Victorian commemorative ink pen and spade features a beautiful b/w lithograph image of the “Nubble Light House”, York, Maine.” A distinctive and pretty little piece, the pen handle and spade is of hardwood, varnished and measures 9” long. The pretty image on the spade end shows the tall iron light tower flanked by the keeper’s house and skeleton bell tower on the rocky island outcrop. The pen tip is of metal and is quite usable as an ink pen. Such wooden Victorian era commemorative pieces, known as Mauchlineware, are exceptionally difficult to find and are beautiful for display. Good image of the white masonry tower, with the walkway, keeper’s dwelling, and bell tower surrounded by a 1 ½” floral border in deep blue on white. Marked “England”, “British Anchor 1913”. This large collectible measures 8 7/8” in diameter. One of only a few of this light that I have had, this fairly large plate has a large 5 ½” full color image of the tall masonry light tower beside the 2-story keeper’s dwelling, barn and out-buildings. This detailed image shows the light tower and buildings the ocean in the background. This pretty display piece measures 8 1/8” in diameter and is enhanced by a decorative gilded and decorated edge. Nice bright, detailed image reminds one of a painting. Marked “Made in Germany for A. L. Thomas, Newport , Ore.”. Quite clean, bright, only light wear to rim, a beautiful display piece. 8166c. (souvenir dish) c.1890 A bright commemorative dish white, featuring a beautiful, detailed b/w image of “Ida Lewis [Lime Rocks) Light House, Newport, R.I.”. This clean dish measures 5 ¾” x 4 ½” oval and is enhanced by a sparkling decorative gilt trim and leaf-shaped rim. B/w image is of the pier leading out toward the island and lighthouse where the famed heroine Ida Lewis grew up and performed so many daring rescues fills the body of the dish. Not marked, pre 1900. Very scarce design and image, quite collectible. Little if any wear but two small flakes from rim but do not detract greatly. A most affordable piece. (VG-). $38.

 

25192. (souvenir mauchlineware pin cushion) c.1900. Superb, rare wooden Victorian covered pin chshion and sewing and thread storage container features a beautiful b/w lithograph image of the “Light House Atlantic City.” A pretty little piece, the bucket-shaped box is of hardwood, varnished and measures 2 ½” h x 2 ¼” dia. The pretty image shows the tall  Absecon light towers flanked by the U. S. Life Saving station and drill pole. The top bears an original wine colored velvet pin cushion. Removing the top of the “bucket” reveals a container for pins, thimble, etc. Such wooden Victorian era commemorative pieces, known as Mauchlineware, are exceptionally difficult to find and are beautiful for display. Surrounded by a gilt border on the turned up fluted edges, this large collectible measures 5” across. Marked “Made in Austria for Jessie Taylor Matheson, Provincetown, Mass. ”. This is a wonderful, early commemorative piece and is one of the more distinctive Highland Light pieces that I have found. 7309f. (souvenir toothpick) c.1900. An unusual, petite, bright emerald green commemorative toothpick holder featuring a beautiful full color image of the “Revere Beach [Boston) Light(house), Mass.”. This unusual item is quite attractive and bears a fine close, full color image of the tall old lighthouse tower, fog signal building and nearby out buildings on the rocky point of Little Brewster Island in Boston Harbor. Holder is quite bright and distinctive, and  measures 2” high by 3 ½” wide and is enhanced by a bit of a decorative gilt trim around the image and rim. Labeled “Made in Germany ”. A bright, gilt decorated commemorative cup in white, featuring a large, detailed, clear full color image of the “Point Concord Light (House), Harve de Grace, Md.” This pretty little piece features a finely detailed image of the tall masonry light tower, and quaint  keeper’s dwelling. perched on the grassy knoll, complete to each tree and fence. Quite rare and distinctive, the cup measures 2 ¼” tall and is enhanced by decorative gilt border on  the petite handle and around the rim. “Made in Germany.” Clean, bright, with one light chip on rim but it does not detract. Quite distinctive, items this large are most difficult to find. Measures 10”, and with a  raised edge enhanced by a petite, decorative gilt border. “Made for O Snow & Son in England”. Little wear but with two chips to rim, the most noticeable (upper left) being about 1”.Light overall age crazing but still a  very large, pretty display piece. (G+). $58 net.

This is an unusual sugar bowl design with a deep green colored background and rose and gilt decoration. This pretty piece measures 3 ½” high by 3 wide. A very attractive piece. [Victorian commemorative covered Mauchlineware sewing bottle) Superb, rare wooden Victorian covered wooden sewing and thread storage container features a beautiful b/w lithograph image of the "Twin Lights, Chatham, Mass." A pretty little piece, the bottle-shaped box is of hardwood, varnished and measures 3 ¾"h x 1 ¼" dia. The pretty image shows the two tall iron light towers flanking their clipped-gabled keeper’s house. The two halves of the "bottle" fit together to house two spools of thread inside, as well as a container for needles and space for thimble [all present). The creamer features a large, b/w image of “West Quoddy [Head) Light [house, Maine). ” Rare and distinctive, the creamer measures 3 ½”  tall and is enhanced by a petite decorative gilding around the handle and rim. The nicely detailed b/w image includes nice detail of the striped light tower with attached keeper’s dwelling looking down on a boat in the rock edged harbor. Large 2” b/w image provides good detail. 710d. [cup/saucer) From lovely Portland Maine comes this rare Old English Staffordshire rose transferware demitasse style cup and saucer. Made in England c.1895-1910 by the Bedford Potteries for Jonroth Co, imported for The Greeting Card Shop, Portland , Maine . Charming demi-cup is in rose with flower decoration, with a fine multiple images including Portland Head Light Cape Elizabeth , Longfellow Home, Longfellow Monument , Two Lights Cape Elizabeth Life Saving Station, Birthplace of Poet Longfellow, Casca [sic) Bay, City Hall. Both are  just beautiful, with flower and leaf decoration. This set piece is quite rare and is one of the more attractive that I have had. This pretty cup measures 3 ¾” in diameter by 2 ¼" high. Cape Cod Lighthouse Commemorative Plate [shown) This lighthouse plate is quite beautiful, and features five vintage images from original photographs, including Cape Cod [Highland) Light, Race Point Light, Long Point Light and Wood End Light. Also pictured is the Pilgrim Memorial Monument. The detailed images are of light blue on white hand crafted porcelain, with a beautiful, bright gilded border. This plate was made in 1996 and limited to about 350 pieces. This is a superb item for display or for gift giving and will certainly be a collectors’ item. 10 ½" diameter. (M).  $66.

This rare item features a clear, close photograph of the light tower, flanked on each side by the keeper’s. Nice close, detailed vertical view in this early photo. Northland [and Lighthouse) off Harbor Point”, Michigan. c. 1890. The pretty image measures about 15/8” island with the tall light tower and associated buildings and dwelling. Such wooden Victorian era commemorative pieces, known as Mauchlineware, are exceptionally difficult to find and are quite pretty for display. Unusual vase measures 5 ¼” high and is enhanced by a bright gilt border and edging,  and shows the short dark colored light tower with attached 1 ½ story keeper’s dwelling on the rocky point on Ten Pound Island. Shown quite close, the image is beautifully done and quite attractive in shades of blues, rose and browns.  23533. (souvenir creamer) “Saltonstall House, Ipswich , Mass. Built 1635.” C.1900. This is a Demi creamer from Ipswich MA. On the front is a large, finely detailed image of the Saltonstall House, Ipswich , Mass.  The creamer measures approx. 3 ¼”  high and 3 ¼”  across and is enhanced with a petite gilt trim about the handle and rim. Marked “Made In Germany (for) A. C. Damon, Ipswich , Mass. 139.” The condition is very good with no chips or cracks, a beautiful and rare piece. (F-). $58 net.

 23532. (souvenir plate) “Historical House, Ipswich , Mass. c.1900. Large 6” commemorative plate features a large b/w image of an unknown historical house (probably the Saltonstall House which was built in 1635). The large 3” detailed image has  excellent detail and on the bright white china with gilded colored border make a good contrast on this rare item. Marked “Made in Germany (for) A. H. This unusual item is quite attractive and bears a fine though a bit distant, full color image of the tall old lighthouse tower and nearby walkway on the rocky island. Vase is quite bright and distinctive, and  measures 3 3/8” high by 2 ½” wide and is enhanced by distinctive ornate handles on each side, and by a bit of a decorative gilt trim on the handle and around the image and rim. Labeled “Made in Germany ”. Clean, no cracks or checks. A very detailed, pretty piece for your display, nice coloration. (VG+). $56 net.

 6619f. (souvenir vase) c.1900. A pretty, bright, gilt edged commemorative vase featuring a beautiful, detailed full color image of the “Portland Head Light, Cape Elizabeth, ME.”. Unusual vase measures 5 ¼” high and is enhanced by a bright gilt border and edging. “Made in Germany ”. Clean, bright, with two lengthy closed cracks from age, 4” on back not visible when displayed, 2” only barely visible on front. A very pretty display piece and an affordable way to add a beautiful piece to your collection. (G). $26 net.

   6626h. (souvenir creamer) c.1900. Superb large creamer, featuring a detailed full color image of “Highland Light (House) Near Provincetown , Mass. This is one of the more striking that I have found, featuring a very pretty and quite detailed full color image of this tall masonry tower, with the keeper’s dwellings to each side. The creamer is of a classic style, enhanced by a short spout and handle on top with a very pretty gilt borders and trim. “Made in Germany .” This beautiful collector’s piece measures 4 ¼”  high x 2 ½” in diameter. This is a wonderful, early commemorative piece, clean and bright, striking. With slight closed age crack on back only, barely visible.  (VG+). $88 net.

24166. (souvenir dish) c.1900. Lovely souvenir china dish bears a large bold full color image of the “Birthplace of Daniel Webster, Franklin , NH . Built 1780”. Dish is clean and bright and bears a close detailed image of the early home of Daniel Webster. Dish measures 5 ¼” diameter and is quite clean, with only very light wear. Backmarked “Painted and imported for Earry E. Merrill, Franklin, N. H. The Jonroth Hand-Painted Studios. Germany ”. (VG+). $16

  

 24129. (souvenir spoon) c. 1900. Beautiful petite silver spoon bears a relief image of the Light House Point, Marquette , Michigan.” on the dish. This finely detailed little piece shows a distant view of the lighthouse perched on the high bluff. A nicely detailed view, other buildings and landforms compliment the scene. The handle of the spoon is edged with a decorative border. On the top of the handle, there are various thistle plants impressed in the sterling. Marked " Sterling ”, measures roughly 5 1/8" long and is in excellent condition. This is one of the nicer pieces, a beautiful, finely detailed little commemorative piece and a most rare item commemorating this interesting Great Lakes station. (F). $68 net.

23540. (souvenir mug). c.1900. An unusual, petite commemorative mug featuring a beautiful full color image of Twin River Point Light, Two Rivers , Wisconsin. ”. This item is quite unusual and attractive and bears a nicely detailed image of the tall iron skeleton lighthouse tower and nearby keeper’s dwelling. Cup is quite distinctive due to its petite size, and measures  2” high by 1 ½” in diameter. Cup is  enhanced by a distinctive maroon band at the base and rim. Clean, no cracks or checks. Marked “Made in Germany for Chas. F. Kirst Druggist, Two Rivers , Wis. Wheelock Dresden.”. A very detailed, pretty piece for your display, in a most unusual form. (VG+). $94 net.

 6531i. (souvenir cup/saucer) “The Nubble (Light), York , Maine .” This is a Demi cup and saucer from York , Maine . On the front of the cup is a fine detailed image of “The Nubble Light”. Large detailed b/w image includes the light tower, bell tower, keeper’s house and boat house and shows fine detail, down to each rock on the bluff. The cup measures approx. 2 ¼” high and 2 1/4" across. The saucer measures approx. 4 ½” across. Marked “Made In Germany for The Portsmouth Crockery Co. Portsmouth , N.H. ” Both cup and saucer are enhanced by a decorative pink highlight and gilt trim. The condition is very good with no chips or cracks, a beautiful and rare set. (VG+). $98 net.

6660o. (souvenir bowl) Superb large, white commemorative bowl, featuring a detailed brown on white image of “Highland Light (House) Cape Cod , Mass. This is one of the larger pieces that I have found, featuring a very pretty and quite detailed brown toned image of this tall masonry tower, with the keeper’s dwellings to each side. Marked “Weiman Made in Germany for O. Snow & Son, Provincetown , Mass. ”. This beautiful collector’s piece measures 6 1/8” in diameter and is enhanced by a colored raised floral decoration around the inside rim, with gilt accents. Clean, bright, rarely  if ever used. A bright, crisp piece, near fine. (VG+).  $89 net.

Cape Cod Lighthouse Commemorative Plate This lighthouse plate is quite beautiful, and features six vintage images including Cape Cod (Highland) Light, Nauset Light, Old Cape Cod Windmill, Beach Scene and Old Fisherman. The detailed images are of rose-maroon on white hand crafted porcelain, with a beautiful, bright rose floral border. This plate was probably made in 1930’s - 50’s for the tourist trade. This is a bright and pretty item for display or for gift giving and is certainly a collectors’ item. 7 5/8” diameter. (VG). $68.

 2023b. (souvenir spoon). Charming, petite commemorative spoon bears a raised image on the handle tip of  ”Nubble Light, York , Maine . This finely detailed little piece shows in relief the tall iron light tower with attached keeper’s dwelling. Measures 3 ½” long and is in excellent as found (unpolished) condition. A nice piece commemorating this interesting light. (F). $18 net.

 2389. (souvenir dish) A bright commemorative dish featuring a beautiful clear, detailed blue on white image of the “Light House, Biloxi , Miss. ” c. 1900. This dish quite striking, with a bold detail of the tall masonry lighthouse tower, causeway and surrounding  buildings and landscape. This is a striking piece,  measuring 6”  in diameter and is quite attractive with the 3 ¼”  image on the stark white body. Marked “Semi Porcelain”. With a light blue floral border, this is a most attractive piece. Extremely difficult to find pieces of this interesting  station. Clean, bright, very little if any wear, very light crazing from normal aging. (VG+). $64 net.

 2323. (paperweight) Heavy glass paperweight featuring a nice early original photograph of the “Coffyn House, Nantucket , 1686 Sea Cliff Inn.” c.1900. This rare photo shows the charming saltbox style home that has graced the island for over 300 years. Nice, clear image. Paperweight measures 4” x 2 ¾” x 1”h. (VG). $22.

 8164d. (souvenir plate) c.1900. A rare, bright, gilt edged commemorative plate featuring a beautiful clear, full color hand painted image of the Portland Head Lighthouse, Portland , Maine. ”. One of only a few like this that I have had, this attractive plate has a quite detailed image as if from a painting, of the tall white masonry tower with attached keeper’s dwelling, fog whistle building and more. This beautiful display piece measures 7 1/8” in diameter and is enhanced by a petite decorative gilt trim around the edge. Nice painting quality image makes this a striking piece. Marked “Jonroth Made in Germany for J. W. Peterson, Portland , Me. ” Very little wear, a striking display piece and quite rare. (VG+).  $98 net.

A large, detailed commemorative trivet or hotplate featuring a quite large, detailed full color image of the “ Atlantic City , Lighthouse (and Life-Saving Station).” This bright distinctive piece is round and measures 6 ½” in diameter and is enhanced by a lightly decorated raised rim. The unusually detailed image includes all aspects of the lighthouse, keeper’s house and adjacent Life-Saving Service station including drill tower. Clean, no cracks or checks, only light wear to gilt trim. A very detailed, pretty little item for your display. (VG+). $68.

(Victorian commemorative covered box) Most attractive, rare wooden Victorian covered wooden box features a beautiful b/w lithograph of the “Light House, Castine , Maine .” A pretty little piece, the box is of hardwood, varnished and measures 2 ½” x 3 ¾” x 2” high. Box has a rectangular top which is enhanced by a decorative rim. The pretty image measures about 1 ¾” oval and shows the entire lighthouse and keeper’s dwelling and surrounding area. This is a terrific piece! Such wooden Victorian era commemorative pieces, known as Mauchlineware, are exceptionally difficult to find and are quite pretty for display. Clean, light wear, brass catch on the front. Most Rare! $138 net.

(souvenir cup/saucer) A rare, bright, gilt decorated and edged commemorative cup and saucer featuring a beautiful clear, detailed color image of the “Atlantic City, Lighthouse (and Life-Saving Station).” The superb cup measures 3” in diameter and is enhanced by a beautiful decorative large wide gilded lace decoration around the border. The unusually detailed image includes all aspects of the lighthouse, keeper’s house and adjacent Life-Saving Service station including drill tower. Saucer is matching and measures 5 ¼” in diameter. Nice detailed image on the bright white china and wide gilt border make a good contrast on this rare item. Marked “Made in Germany ”. Quite clean, bright, a beautiful display piece. (VG+). $76 net.

 21446. (souvenir plate) An exceptionally rare, bright, gilt decorated and edged commemorative plate featuring a beautiful clear, detailed color image of the “Sperry Light New Haven, Conn. Souvenir Savin Rock.” c. 1900. One of only a few of this light that I have had, this fairly large plate has a large 2 ½” full color image on white of the tall iron light tower on its caisson at the end of the breakwater. This pretty display piece measures 6 ¼” in diameter and is enhanced by a decorative scalloped gilded decoration around the edge. Nice detailed image on the bright white china make a good contrast on this rare item. Marked “Made in Germany .” Quite clean, bright, only light wear to rim, a beautiful display piece. (VG+). $74.

   21537b. (souvenir spoon) c. 1900. Beautiful petite silver spoon bears detailed images of a U. S. Life Saving Station and lighthouse on the handle. This finely detailed little piece is engraved Biloxi Miss. on the dish. The back id decorated with a nautical motif including sailboat and whale. Marked " Sterling ”, measures 5" long and is in excellent condition. A beautiful, finely detailed little commemorative piece. (F).    $38 net.

9125d. (souvenir spoon) c. 1900. Beautiful silver spoon bears an image of Portland Head Light [house, Maine ) 1790.” on the dish. This finely detailed little piece shows in relief the tall light tower with attached dwelling, fog signal building and out buildings with the ocean beyond. The back is engraved “ Sterling ”. 4” long A beautiful, finely detailed commemorative piece. (F).   $38 net.

24318. (souvenir butter pat or pin dish) c.1900 A remarkable little commemorative butter pat or pin dish featuring a beautiful, detailed b/w image of “Ned Point Light, Mattapoisett, Mass.”. The petite little dish measures 3 ¾” in diameter and is enhanced by a pretty gilt decorated scalloped rim. Labeled “B.F.H.S. China Made in Austria for Atsatt Bros. Mattapoisett, Mass. ” Very clean, light wear, some closed age lines, still a nicely detailed, pretty little piece for your display and a rare Ned Point collectible. (G+).  $46 net.  

9486n. (souvenir plate) c.1900. A rare, hand painted commemorative pin plate featuring a beautiful clear, full color image of the "Atlantic City [Absecon) Lighthouse and Life-Saving Station, NJ. c.1900. The only one of this style that I have had, this attractive plate has a quite detailed painted image of lighthouse, life-saving station and surrounding buildings. This bright distinctive piece is round and measures 4 7/8" in diameter with the image extending the full width of the plate. Unusually large image make this a striking piece. Marked "Made in Germany". Very little wear, an interesting display piece and quite rare. (VG+). $68 net.

22527. (souvenir plate) c.1900. An unusual, large, bright commemorative plate, featuring a beautiful black on brown image of "Burnt Island Light, Boothbay Harbor, Maine". This item is quite large and bears a large image of the picturesque light station and surrounding shoreline. One of the older beacons on the coast, Burnt Island Light dates back to the year 1821. Plate is quite bright and distinctive, and measures 8" in diameter. Plate enhanced by a sparkling decorative silver trim. Clean, no cracks or checks. [Made in England for) "Burbank, Douglass & Co. Portland, Maine". A very detailed, pretty piece for your display. (VG+). $138 net.

6660n,r. (souvenir plate) Superb blue on white plate, featuring a close and detailed image of "Highland Light Cape Cod Mass." Plate features a large, detailed image of the tall masonry tower, with the keeper’s dwellings to each side, surrounded by a 1 ½" shell border in deep blue on white. "The Adams Souvenir Series. W. Adams & Co. Tunstall, England. Est. 1652. Made in England for E. O. Snow & Son, Provincetown, Mass." Also with the lion logo of "Jones, McDuffee & Stratton, Boston". This large collectible measures 7 ¾" in diameter. This is a wonderful, early commemorative piece and is one of the nicest Highland Light pieces that I have yet found. A bright, crisp piece. (VG+). $168 net.

20215b. [paperweight) Heavy glass paperweight featuring an early c.1890 photograph of "Point Judith Lighthouse, R. I." This rare item features a nice detailed sepia image of the masonry light tower, 1 ½-story keeper’s dwelling and nearby fog signal building surrounded by a white board fence. An excellent early image, clear, crisp near fine. (F-). $88 net.

710c (souvenir cup). A bright, gilt decorated commemorative cup in white, featuring a large, detailed, clear b/w image of the "Portland Head Light [House) Portland, Maine." This pretty little piece features a finely detailed image of the tall masonry light tower, fog signal building and keeper’s dwelling. perched on the rocks, complete to each rock and stone. Quite rare and distinctive, the cup measures 2 ¼" tall and is enhanced by decorative gilt border on the petite handle and around the rim. "Made in Austria for J. R. Libby Co., Portland, Maine." Clean, bright, with one light age crack but it does not detract. (G+). $34.

2165b, c. (souvenir cup) A stout, bright, gilt decorated commemorative cup in crème and white, featuring a detailed, clear, full color image of the "The Lighthouse, Ten Pound Island, Gloucester, Mass.". Quite rare and distinctive, the cup measures 2 ¾" tall and is enhanced by decorative gilt framing around the image, and gilt border around the petite handle and rim. The very fine, detailed color image is one of the nicer ones that I have seen, and shows the light tower with attached 1 ½ story keeper’s dwelling on the rocky point on Ten Pound Island. Shown quite close, the image is beautifully done and quite attractive in shades of blues, greens, reds and browns. "Made in Germany." Clean, bright, most difficult to find. (VG+). $68 net.

8468d. (souvenir cup) A stout, bright, gilt decorated commemorative cup in crème and white, featuring a detailed, clear, full color image of the "Portland Head Light, Cape Elizabeth, Maine.". 20306b (souvenir creamer). c.1900. A bright, rose decorated commemorative creamer in white. The creamer features a large, detailed, clear b/w image of "Portland Head Light, Portland, Me. " Extremely rare and distinctive, the creamer measures a full 4 ¼" tall and is enhanced by a petite decorative rose decorated shading around the perimeter of the image. The very fine, detailed b/w image includes nice detail of the tall masonry light tower, keeper’s dwelling, fog signal building and more. Large 3" b/w image provides good detail. This fine, detailed creamer is nicely done and quite attractive. Marked "Made in Germany for Angus McKay, Portland, Maine." Clean, bright, very little or no wear. Light closed age cracks beginning on the base but not visible when displayed. Creamers of this location are on demand and make a great collectible. (VG). $84 net.

985. (souvenir plate) c.1952 A pretty, bright commemorative plate featuring a large detailed image in maroon of the "Goat Island Light, Cape Porpoise, Maine." The detailed plate measures 9 ¼" in diameter and is enhanced by a beautiful decorative gilt trim. Labeled "World Wide Art Service, Covington, Texas.", and with a lengthy description of the light and its history on the back. Very clean, no cracks or checks, bright, a very nice and affordable item for your display. (VG). $28.
